KVV approves light-rail extension to Wolfartsweier
The Karlsruhe Transport Authority is extending tram-train line S2 by 2029. A new 1.8-kilometre stretch heading south.
The Karlsruhe Transport Authority has approved the extension of light-rail line S2 to Wolfartsweier. By 2029, a new 1.8-kilometre stretch with four new stops will be built, at an investment of 78 million euros. The Karlsruhe Model — its tram-train hybrid — thus remains a blueprint for public transport expansion in mid-sized cities.
