Market Square with the Pyramid
The Market Square is the neoclassical heart of Karlsruhe, designed by Friedrich Weinbrenner from 1804. The red sandstone pyramid from 1825 is the tomb of city founder Margrave Karl Wilhelm and arguably Karlsruhe's most unusual landmark. It is framed by the Protestant City Church, the town hall and the Catholic City Church of St Stephen.
